This is a unique and high profile live study which applies the latest thinking in training evaluation to a major change programme within the Highways Agency (HA). The aim of the contract was to measure the effectiveness of the training provided within the HA and determine whether it was a worthwhile investment.

 

Within the HA, the Traffic Officer Service (TOS) is unique - it is a new service and operates in a safety critical environment. The TOS performance standards and, indeed, failures in performance will have a direct and major impact on the travelling public and the police service (its primary stakeholder).

 

Using questionnaires, diary studies and focus groups, our team gathered data on all aspects of training and potential non-training effects to determine the impact on performance outcomes. Rigorous statistical analysis presented the HA with invaluable data on the effectiveness of training and the ultimate return on investment.
