Our Core Unifying Methods

All our consultants are experienced practitioners in these core methods, in addition to their own specialist fields of expertise. These common methods enable our specialist practitioners to work effectively together on projects in multi-skilled teams.

Business Analysis

Basis Business Analysis ™ is our proprietary consultancy methodology. It is the commercial derivative of Soft Systems Methods (SSM) developed at Lancaster University and is a proven transformation methodology:

  • we adopt open, participative and consultative working practices to encourage your contribution and build shared understanding;
  • a key aspect of our analysis process is working out where you want your business to be – starting with the end in mind;
  • we utilise simple, creative and analytical thinking tools which generate plain English, jargon-free products.

Many of our clients comment that our methods are ‘structured common sense’  – we take this as a compliment. ‘Structure’ gives us focus and purpose, and good ‘sense’ is often not as ‘common’ as people believe!

Programme and Project Management

As part of our ISO registered quality management system we would normally adopt the MSP / PRINCE 2 methodologies to manage the programme and project delivery respectively for our client.

Both MSP and PRINCE2 are de facto standards used extensively by the UK government and are widely recognised and practiced throughout the private sector, both in the UK and internationally.

We use the framework of these methodologies (tailored as appropriate) as it helps to eliminate some of the common programme and project failures that occur; it also helps to ensure that key aspects have been considered in order to achieve successful delivery.

Occupational Psychology

Occupational Psychology is at the heart of our organisational development capability. It is concerned with how organisations function and how leaders, individuals and groups interact and behave at work.

In addition to our specialist Master NLP practitioners, and Chartered Occupational Psychologists; all our consultants are trained and experienced in employing Occupational Psychology techniques.

We apply and nurture the Soft Skills needed in the management and communication of change. This includes developing an understanding of an organisation’s values and provides an insight into what drives individual and team behaviours.
